What did Abadi say at his weekly press conference on Tuesday?
BAGHDAD, Aug 22 (KUNA) - Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi assured Iraqi President Saddam Hussein that Iraq's debts would be over $ 120 billion.
Abadi began his weekly press conference to discuss the ongoing operations in the liberation of Tal Afar west of Mosul, which started on Sunday, saying "there are signs of the collapse of the enemy in Tal Afar," noting that "the process involving the army and the federal police and the fight against terrorism and popular mobilization and some of them work together in axes and purpose of security Civilians and infrastructure and we are interested in the displaced and put up reserves to accommodate more of them. "
"We believe that the stifling financial crisis will continue for years to come in Iraq, and we have many international debts, some from the former regime and the other to borrow the government to fill the financial deficit, but these debts are in a safe place and we do not want to expand them," Abadi said.
"Those who want to raise the salaries of senior officials will have to have religion."
Abadi said that "officials of the countries visiting Iraq praise the performance of Iraqi forces in the field of human rights and they know the existence of abuses, but individual and not systematic," noting that "Iraq began to take its position in the region and became a source of stability in the region and for the first time fighting his own forces."
The prime minister pointed out that US Defense Secretary James Mattes, who visited Baghdad today, "said during our meeting today that no one could imagine the liberation of Nineveh during this short period."
"We will not allow Iraq to use aggression against any neighboring country and we do not want any conflict in the region," Abadi said. "The conflict will distract attention from a fighting insurgency and terrorism."
As for the future of the popular mobilization forces after a hasty stage, he said: "The popular crowd fighters have fought themselves and their efforts to defend the homeland and we have to honor them, which are precious to the homeland and should not be abandoned."
"We have to think about something broader in the future, after eliminating the urge will be less military concern, and we are working on the use of the Iraqi army in reconstruction campaigns and build a strategy such as bridges and basic services and this is in place in most countries."
"The study of the government to turn the crowd into the jihad of construction, reconstruction and services do not want to militarize Iraqi society."
"We want to reduce the number of security forces so as to preserve the security of the country and to prevent the militarization of the society, the increase in them will lead to increased spending and weakness of security and militarization of society, and this is our general trend, Now we are in a war with an oppressor and then not everyone wants to over-military. "
On the visit of the Kurdish delegation in Iraq, Abbadi said, "The dialogue with them was very frank and I told them that we will not understand only one Iraq and in this framework everything is subject to research in the problems and outstanding issues, some of which are attributed to the former regime, which committed crimes that affected all components of the Iraqi people and Kurds in Iraq More than others in the region. "
"We hope that the Kurdish leadership and our Kurdish people will be in one unified Iraq. It is a key issue for the stability of the region and the security of the country," he said.
He added that "the visit and discussion with the Kurdish delegation is positive and we hope that the reflection will be good, but the concession will be for the people," stressing that "the government is open and ready to discuss all files with the Kurds in the framework of one unified Iraq."
He pointed out that "the Cabinet discussed the draft Social Insurance Law, which is a deduction for the retirement of workers in the private sector and includes even the rights of the families of the martyrs fighters against Daqash, unfortunately some are opposed to this for strange reasons." We are committed to the directives of the reference in ensuring the rights of martyrs.
He added that "this law provides for private sector workers and can give freedom to transfer retirement between the government and private sector and vice versa," noting that "part of the reform work in Iraq and should not be limited to the job and pension guarantee only government departments and the public sector."
"We do not want there to be large class differences in Iraqi society and we are surprised that there are those who receive more than salaries and large amounts as deputy and officials and others in return he refuses to give salaries to the lower classes and this is contrary to justice."
He pointed out that "the opening of Arar and Jnina with Saudi Arabia on a continuous basis, not just for pilgrims. We also conducted a pilot exercise today by opening the Trebil crossing and carrying a convoy from Baghdad to Trebil and then to Jordan and returning to Baghdad to test the road and protect Iraqi." Which is in the interest of the two countries. "
"In the framework of the administrative reform, we opened the nomination to the independent bodies and four years ago this was impossible because of the quota. We say that this is not against the parties, but we do not want it to be the monopoly of one party and we hope it will be better and better."
He called on the tribal leaders to cooperate against those who want to use the tribes to threaten the competencies such as doctors, teachers and even civilians or want to disturb the security of society, stressing that "the phenomenon of attacks and tribal conflicts must be stopped.
Abadi pointed out that "many projects stopped in the provinces after the disbursement of billions and we are investigating the causes, whether corruption or mismanagement," noting that "Basra spent more than any of the provinces of petrodollar allocations, but those visiting do not see a difference from the rest of the provinces We are interested in the reality of its importance to Iraq economically. "
"We met with the Council of Babylon about the reasons for that prohibition and we are surprised by this decision, and we do not know its background. They say for security reasons, but we say that the provincial councils have a duty to preserve," Abadi said. The sons of the province and not discriminate between them and from Ajram and violated the penalty in the judiciary and according to the law. "
"The areas where we have prepared the displaced after the security check are more stable than their non-return. We do not want this sectarian attraction. I am against these decisions. The displaced people must be returned to their houses," he said. Finished
