    [ltr]The Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, the great Imam Ahmad Al-Tayeb, held a meeting in Berlin on Sunday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, during which they discussed the issue of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The press office of Al-Azhar said in a statement posted on its Facebook page that the talks came at the start of Al-Tayeb's visit to Germany, which he attended to participate in the "Peace Roads" conference held in the city of Munster.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The meeting included "discussing cooperation between Al-Azhar and Germany, as well as the tragedy of the Rohingya Muslims."[/ltr]
    [ltr]Sheikh Al-Azhar will address the conference on interfaith dialogue, combating extremism and spreading the principles of tolerance and peaceful co-existence between different religions and cultures.[/ltr]
    [ltr]On the sidelines of the conference, Tayeb will hold a number of meetings with German officials and religious leaders to discuss ways to coordinate efforts to spread the culture of coexistence and peace, renounce violence, hatred, intolerance and Islamophobia, in addition to a number of important official meetings.[/ltr]


    [ltr]It is worth mentioning that this visit is the third by the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb to Germany in two years[/ltr]
