after a bloody battle .. The fall of another stronghold to the drowsy Filipin

The Philippine military announced on Sunday the control of the center of the armed leadership loyal to Da'ash in the southern city of Marawi, which has been fighting between the two parties since last May.
The army confirmed that it took control of the headquarters after a bloody battle began Saturday in a mosque and another building, according to "AFP".
General Eduardo Ano said in a statement that control of the center "weakens the terrorist group more, depriving it of its former position of command and control."
For four months, Philippine troops have been engaged in fierce battles to expel the militants, who have occupied parts of the Muslim-majority city in a country with a vast majority of Catholics.
The spark of fighting erupted at the end of May after a failed attempt to capture the leader of the militants, Isnilon Hapilon, one of the world's most wanted men, who is seen as a staunch leader in Southeast Asia.
Hundreds of armed militants stormed Marawi on May 23, raising black flags, supported by a number of foreign fighters and taking control of parts of the city.
Government forces said that the attempt to arrest Habilon prompted the militants to rush to try to control the city and declare a "succession" in it, similar to the "caliphate" declared by a preacher in Syria and Iraq.
The fighting has claimed more than 500 lives among civilians and military militants, as well as the displacement of more than half a million people.
