Rafidain Bank announced on Friday the payment of salaries of employees of some departments and institutions of the state through electronic payment tools.
"The salaries of employees of the University of Mosul and some faculties of the University of Baghdad have been distributed by smart card," the bank's information office said in a statement received by the Journal News.
The statement pointed to "the distribution of salaries of employees of the Sunni Endowment in Anbar and the College of Imam al-Adham electronically," adding that "the salaries of the Directorate of Highway Traffic of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and the Ministry of Oil refineries through the smart card.
The Iraqi government has recently sought to strengthen the role of "e-government", where recently began to transfer the salaries of some employees to banks through the government smart card.
