    Claims to speed up passage of the law on domestic violence
    The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Chairman of the Children's Welfare Association in Iraq, Mohammed Shi'a al-Sudani, called on the House of Representatives to speed up legislation of the law on domestic violence to reduce the cases of violence that have increased recently.
    Al-Sudani called for "addressing all the problems and challenges posed by terrorist practices against Iraq's children and working together to strengthen measures to protect them and prevent their exploitation and reintegration into society in order to build a society capable of Steadfastness and contribute to social stability and community-building. "
    He added that "the Child Care Authority has worked over the past period to identify and diagnose the shortcomings of the reality of the institutions concerned with the child and the quality and level of services provided, especially in the field of education and health as well as social and cultural fields."
    He pointed out that "the body prepared a draft law on the Iraqi child, which will provide children with care and protection guaranteed by the Constitution and guaranteed by international conventions and covenants ratified by the Republic of Iraq."
    He explained that the organization, through its cooperation with regional organizations and international partners, was able to launch a policy document on child protection in Iraq in cooperation and coordination with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), stressing that the implementation of this policy requires a joint effort of all ministries and institutions of the Iraqi state.
    He stressed the need to work together to find the appropriate positive atmosphere that will ensure good planning and implementation of various programs and projects aimed at the child with the importance of involving civil society organizations in these programs, calling on them to take their active role to contribute with the body in addressing the phenomenon of violence against children, The same House of Representatives to accelerate the legislation of the law on domestic violence to reduce the incidence of violence, which has increased in recent times.
    He stressed the need for the participation of all professors, academics, researchers, government officials and representatives of civil society organizations in the face of the serious challenges and negative effects of the gangs of terrorist gangs.
    He expressed the hope that an integrated vision will be developed that will give priority to follow up the pressing issues facing children and contribute to the development of government policies and programs in the difficult circumstances of childhood in the country.
