BAGHDAD - A special committee in the Iraqi Council of Ministers lists the employees of the Kurdistan region, in order to provide Baghdad salaries of employees in the region and the removal of pseudonyms.
A government source said that "there is a high-level government committee in the Council of Ministers working on auditing the records of employees in the Kurdistan region of Iraq," adding that «a large number of fictitious employees - or what is known locally as satellite, are listed in lists sent by the region To Baghdad ».
The source, who asked not to be named, said "the audit may take time because of the names of astronauts," noting that "this phenomenon (astronomers) not only in the region, but in most federal institutions in Iraq."
As for the proportion allocated to the Kurdistan region in the federal budget for 2018, the source confirmed that «the proportion allocated to the Kurdistan region of Iraq fixed 12.67% and approved by the Council of Ministers and can not be modified».
