Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Sunday telephoned the representative of the religious authority Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalai to check on his health after the recent attack on him.
"The Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi, telephoned the representative of the supreme religious authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalai, after the unfortunate attack attempt during a sermon and prayer last Friday," a statement from the office of al-Abadi said.
The statement added that "Abadi assured the health of Karbalai, wishing him continued health and safety." Ending / 25
