The Governor of Wasit Mahmoud Abd al-Rida Talal, Sunday, the cessation of 249
educational projects in the province for reasons related to the financial crisis and administrative, pointing to the need of the Directorate of Education for more than 450 new schools.
Talal said in a statement quoted by the official newspaper "Al-Sabah" and read by "Economy News", that Wasit province suffers from a clear shortage in the number of school buildings, noting that 249 educational projects in the province completely stopped because of the financial crisis in the country, and some of them stopped for administrative reasons Beyond the powers of the province.
He added that the projects stopped include the construction of schools and kindergartens and computer training centers and rehabilitation of teachers, noting that the projects were distributed by 204 projects at the expense of the development of regions, 25 within the investment plan of the Ministry of Education and 13 projects in the account of the Kuwaiti grant and seven other projects under the auspices of Iranian companies.
He pointed out that the province includes 1150 primary, middle, secondary and vocational schools distributed among 600 buildings in accordance with the double-duty. He pointed out that the Directorate needs more than 450 new buildings for the schools of the province to break the double period achieved because of the increase in the number of students and students accompanied by a lack of school buildings in the slum areas
and expressed Talal, he lamented the apparent faltering in the establishment of school buildings and educational projects, especially ministerial projects that have seen Tlkua in the stages of work, noting that there are measures taken against a number of lagging companies, including the withdrawal of labor and the imposition of fines Tajerih Bh Ha.
