, Governor of Wasit, Muhammad Jamil Al-Mayahi, confirmed, on Friday, that more than 200 ministerial projects are suspended due to legal problems and corruption, while indicating that the province needs political and security stability to advance service projects.
Al-Mayahi said, according to the official agency, that "the budget does not meet 20% of the governorate's need for projects, infrastructure, hospitals and schools," indicating that "work will be done mainly to complete the delayed projects."
He added, "The budget in its current state is better than the absence of it," pointing out that "the province's projects were damaged last year because the budget was not approved."
He pointed out that "all infrastructure projects have a financial allocation," explaining that "the governorate is witnessing a good reconstruction movement at the present time and needs to be strengthened with funds."
He continued that "the problem of ministerial projects has not been addressed until now," pointing out that "more than 200 suspended ministerial projects contain legal problems, corruption and integrity transfers without a solution."
Al-Mayahi noted, "The governorate has great potentials for success, especially since 4 million dunums of its lands are suitable for agriculture," noting that "the governorate needs stability and cannot be promoted if there is no security and political stability." Ended 6/29
