The Minister of Industry and Minerals Agency, Mohamed Shiaa al-Sudani, announced the termination of 71 contracts with foreign companies did not provide the correct specifications for the Iraqi user.

"With regard to food and beverages, there are difficulties in how to control the border crossings from which imported goods are imported, which are not subject to the standards of quality and health, especially with respect to cigarettes that are incompatible with international health standards."
Al-Sudani pointed out that "the Iraqi brand of cigarettes [Sumer], which has been restarted the plant with the required health standards globally, while the Iraqi consumer is still using cigarettes in the Iraqi market, which does not contain any health specifications."
