The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Vatican Omar al-Barzanji, the upcoming visit of Pope Francis to Iraq after the formation of the new federal government.
During his meeting with the Vatican, Archbishop Cardinal Pietro Barrolin renewed the invitation to visit Pope Francis to Iraq to give a message of peace and solidarity among the people of different religions, especially after the victory of the Iraqis against the terrorist gangs.
For his part, Cardinal Barrolin stressed the importance of the visit of Pope Francis to Iraq after the victories against the gangs and the support of the Holy See to Iraq and his desire to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries, indicating that he intends to visit Iraq after the formation of the new federal government in preparation for the visit of Pope Francis ).
