North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un has confirmed his "firm" commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
Kim said during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Pyongyang that the achievement of this must be a "phase in phase," a key sticking point in North Korea's talks with the United States, which wants to disarm effectively before any Mitigation of sanctions.

Prior to the meeting, Pompeo told Twitter that he was looking forward to the meeting and to meet the North Korean official.
