The Saudi-led Arab coalition intercepted three ballistic missiles fired from Yemen by the Houthi forces towards the southern city of Jazan.
The Saudi air defense forces monitored Saturday evening the launch of a ballistic missile by the Houthis from Amran governorate north of Yemen towards the city of Jazan, he said, adding that the attack targeted "civilian and populated areas."
Maliki confirmed that the air defense forces of the coalition was able to intercept and destroy the rocket without causing damage or injuries.
The spokesman reiterated Iran's accusation of supporting the Houthis "with specific capabilities, in clear defiance of UN resolutions 2216 and 2231, with the aim of threatening the security of Saudi Arabia and regional and international security."
For its part, said the channel, "the march" of the Houthis that the missile force of the group fired a ballistic missile "Badr 1" on the camp of an innovative Saudi army in Jazan.
