Europe's banks in Turkey face a capitalist influence
The impact on the capital of European banks most exposed to the Turkish lira crisis is a controlled effect that makes it easier to cope, the rating agency DBS said on Tuesday.
The most exposed banks to Turkey, through subsidiaries or direct investments, are BPA, UniCredit, BNP Paribas, EING and HSBC, the agency said.
She said she expected a negative impact on profitability and the deterioration of asset quality somewhat in some banks.
"However, DBS believes that the overall impact is governed by the diversity of banks' business models and strategies for their exposure to emerging markets," the agency said in a statement.
