"US consulates in Basra, Erbil and the US Embassy in Baghdad will continue to support the Iraqi people and their government in their efforts on economic reform, fighting corruption, creating jobs and providing the services that the Iraqi people deserve," she said.
The province of Basra, angry demonstrations against poor services, drinking water scarcity, lack of electricity and widespread unemployment, and caused clashes between demonstrators and security forces killed dozens of both sides.
