Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International claimed that Saudi Arabia tortured human rights activists and sexually harassed them.
The allegations indicate that women inmates in Dhahban prison in the Kingdom were subjected to electric shock and flogging.
Earlier this year, Saudi Arabia arrested a number of women's rights activists, as well as influential clerics and intellectuals.
Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch issued a statement Tuesday on alleged torture of imprisoned women prisoners.
According to Amnesty International's statement, women activists were unable to walk or stand properly after electrocution and skin, while one was sexually harassed by masked interrogators.
Human Rights Watch also spoke of electric shock and flogging, as well as "forced hugs and kisses" of at least three detainees.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, praised last year the launch of a campaign to modernize the kingdom, including allowing women to drive.
Critics say it was accompanied by repression of the opposition.
The country also faces international criticism over the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.
Saudi Arabia blamed the killings on "rogue agents" but denied allegations that the crown prince was aware of the operation.
However, it was reported that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) believed that Mohammed bin Salman had ordered the killing.
US President Donald Trump issued a statement on Tuesday defending his ties with Saudi Arabia, although he said the Saudi crown prince may have been aware of the crime.
