Food is ranked first in the monthly spending of the Iraqi family

BAGHDAD / The Ministry of Planning announced on Saturday that foodstuffs ranked first in the monthly expenditure of the Iraqi family, while the average expenditure for the family amounted to 1276 thousand dinars.
"The Central Bureau of Statistics and Executive Management of the Poverty Reduction Strategy in the Ministry of Planning carried out a survey and evaluation of poverty in Iraq for the year 2018, in order to obtain updated social and economic indicators," said ministry spokesman Abdul-Zahra al-Hindawi in a statement. ) Families in all governorates of Iraq by (360) families in each province, except Baghdad and the Kurdistan region has reached (900) families.
He added that the results showed that "the structure of household spending on consumer goods and services showed that the food group came in first place with 32%, followed by fuel, housing and lighting by 24%. Transportation ranked third with 12.1% (6.4%), and furniture and household appliances (5.2%).
She added that "the average expenditure of the family amounted to (1276) thousand dinars / month at the prices paid and (1503) thousand dinars / per month at market prices."
"The statistics show that 31% of households spend less than one million dinars per month and 48.2% of households spend between one million and less two million dinars per month and 14.6% of households spend between two million and less than three million monthly, (5.7)% of the families agree three million dinars and more monthly.
