On January 8, Iran's Shipping Association Secretary Masood Boulema said at a press conference that 95 percent of Iran's trade depends on the sea.

In a statement to the ILNA news agency, Bolme said all companies with a kind of relationship with the United States had left Iran. And that many foreign ports, especially those operated by the private sector, prohibit the entry of Iranian vessels, and the maritime sector is now witnessing a 40 per cent decline in the labor force. In November, dozens of Iranian tankers, cargo ships and passengers were placed on the sanctions list. With the exception of dozens of tankers, 122 ships of the National Navigation Company are also on the US new list of sanctions.

The United States has re-imposed financial and industrial sanctions against Iran

Bolme noted that since the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal so far, there are 20 shipping companies left the Iranian ports, in addition to the list of sanctions imposed on the maritime industry in Iran in the period of sanctions returned again, and there is also a list of real persons and legal Were included in the sanctions list in the field of ports and maritime activities.

Massoud Bouleima said a number of foreign ports had banned Iranian ships and placed restrictions on them, without naming a specific country, adding that "some of these ports are within the ports of friendly and sister countries."

On Saturday, January 5, Ishaq Jahangiri, First Vice President Rohani, announced that foreign shipping companies had left Iran and that local shipping companies now bear the brunt of the burden.

"Although the situation is different from previous sanctions, we face obstacles in many countries, but there are positive signs emerging in negotiations with EU countries, but private-sector foreign ports can work with Iranian naval fleet, with some restrictions, contrary to the approach of governments.
