The Finance Committee of the parliamentary, Saturday, "the need to secure the salaries of employees and retirees in the treasury of the State even if the decline in prices of crude oil," noting that "the Committee recommends the government to stay away from borrowing funds from abroad."
Committee member Mahasen Saadoun told "NRT": "The borrowing of the government funds from abroad cause a financial deficit in the treasury of the state," noting that "the deficit in the budget of 2019 has so far amounted to 27 trillion Iraqi dinars."
She added that "the Committee recommends the government to move away from external borrowing," noting that "the lower oil prices offset by an increase in the fiscal deficit in the Treasury."
Saadoun added that "the salaries of employees and retirees is a red line and will not be affected by any economic changes in the event of high oil prices or decline," revealing that "the salaries were secured in the budget of 2019 and there is no fear during this year, and will be paid to the categories of employees and retirees."
