The leader of the coalition of state law Nuri al-Maliki wants to visit the Kurdistan region in the month of March next and the holidays, "Noroz," confirming the position of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, friendly to the Kurds.
Haddad said in a political symposium held today on the relations between Arbil and Baghdad, that "in a meeting with al-Maliki, the latter expressed a desire to visit Kurdistan in (Nowruz) and said to him on the welcome and capacity."
He added that "Abdel-Mahdi told us in one of the meetings that he defended the rights of the Kurdistan region more than the Kurds themselves, where he was for four years in the mountains struggling against dictatorship," stressing that "these positive things should be invested in the benefit of the Kurdistan Region."
Haddad said that "President Barzani's visit to Baghdad had an impact on improving relations and moisturizing the atmosphere and was carrying two messages, one saying that the Kurds have good intentions towards Baghdad, and want to forget the past and fold the page and open a new page."
He continued by saying that "the second letter was from Baghdad to Erbil, which is the luxury reception of Barzani, since he did not hold official status, he was not the president of the Kurdistan Region, and no head of state, but was received by the reception of kings and brushes him red carpet in Baghdad and Najaf.
"Haddad said that the last message is clear and its content means that as far as the Kurdistan Region need Iraq, Baghdad needs more to the region," stressing that "the Kurdistan region has become stronger than the pre-referendum and the status of Kurds in Baghdad strengthened more than before."
