The Association of Information Technology and Communication Companies "Production" and the Jordanian-Jordanian Economic Association signed a memorandum of understanding to regulate economic cooperation and facilitate the operation of Iraqis and Jordanians, digital transformation and cooperation in reconstruction projects of Iraq.
The memorandum signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association "Production" Bashar Hawamdeh and the Chairman of the Board Khaled Kanaan, in the presence of the Iraqi Ambassador in Amman Safia Suhail, to cooperate in the areas of exchange of experiences and technical consultations through holding meetings and seminars and internal and external conferences in order to raise cooperation Economic relations between the two countries.
The Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Muthanna Al Gharaybeh, who attended the signing, said Jordan is ready to put its expertise and practical experiences in the fields of communications and information technology, digital transformation and entrepreneurship among the Iraqi brothers to benefit from them. He stressed that Jordanian companies have accumulated experience to enable them to provide all necessary These are areas for Iraqi brothers.
He pointed out that Jordan is currently continuing the process of digital transformation. A large number of traditional government services have been transferred to the electronic, as well as the application of financial technology and electronic payment technology to a large number of services in various sectors. A large part of the automation of the health sector has been implemented, To reach the overall digital economy.
He stressed the importance of the organization of cooperation with the Iraqi side, which is a promising market for Jordanian companies, adding that the Jordanian ICT companies have many opportunities and diverse and valuable in the Iraqi market.
He pointed out that the Memorandum of Understanding establishes a formal and organized work that will lead to building a partnership between the public and private sectors in the ICT sector between the two countries.
He stressed the importance of this sector and the urgent need at this stage to exchange experiences between the two countries and benefit from Jordanian expertise, as the Iraqi economy is large in size and potential and needs a great deal of support in development projects.
He announced that the association in partnership with the Association of Iraqi private banks and the International Finance Corporation and "production", will hold a joint meeting in Baghdad in July next to discuss the digital transformation in the banking sector.
