    Some banks in southern Iraq have informed public sector employees to postpone salary payments for a week against the backdrop of protests, Al Arabiya television reported on Wednesday.
    "These banks justified the postponement of salary payments by closing roads and not being able to transfer salaries," the satellite channel said, quoting its anchors.
