Legal expert Tariq Harb confirmed, on Thursday, that the resigned Prime Minister, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , will remain in his position until a replacement for him is chosen, pointing out that the President of the Republic replaces the Prime Minister in the event of vacancy.
Harb said in a statement to "Information", that "Prime Minister [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] will remain in his position and continue to conduct daily affairs until a replacement is chosen for him."
He added that "the President of the Republic cannot replace [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] at the present time, because Abdel Mahdi did not leave the post because of death or a health deficit or leaving after resignation so that his position becomes empty."
He explained that "Article 64 of the Constitution affirms that the government of the conduct of daily affairs remains in power until an alternative government is chosen for it, so that the process of handing over and receiving is carried out according to his ministry and position, and therefore the President of the Republic will not take over the duties of Abdul-Mahdi in power because the position is not vacated." 25 n ended
