For months, the headquarters of the PMF factions in Iraq have been under attack, particularly with drones. Although the source of these attacks is known, the development represented by the United States' recognition of the recent attack on Brigade 45 in al-Qa’im opens the door to wide questions and analysis.

The beginning and to go back a little when the terrorist group ISIS still controlled large areas in Mosul and other Iraqi regions. At that time, American newspapers published a report in which US Air Force pilots were quoted as saying that the higher orders that came from their leaders prevented them from targeting the terrorist sites, even though they were within their range of fire.
These facts reveal that the American approach to terrorism in Iraq and the region is not what Washington declares. This is what is unfolding with the American administration’s focus on describing the PMF or some of its factions as terrorist groups, despite everyone’s knowledge that the PMF and its factions are the cornerstone of the process of eliminating ISIS.
And if the distinction between the parties accused of targeting the crowd in recent months is not possible (the fact that the Israeli entity does not differ from the American administration), however, entering Washington directly on the target line and its recognition of striking the crowd headquarters creates new dimensions to the issue.
Firstly
Since the beginning of the protests in Iraq and the rightful demands of the Iraqi people, efforts have been made to portray them as directed against the crowd and its factions, and those behind them Iran. Even some of the known voices of affiliation and allegiance accused the crowd of being a terrorist group, forgetting the sacrifices it had made in confronting ISIS, which was threatening Iraq with its various sects. The strike targeting the crowd comes after Washington failed to pass the suspected and well-known project through the protests despite funding, sponsorship, and great support for the groups that promoted against the crowd and Iran (including burning the Iranian consulate more than once).
Second
Beyond the American justification that the attack was in response to targeting American bases in Iraq (Washington accused the Hezbollah Brigades), there are backgrounds beyond that that include the confrontation with Iran. Whereas, any targeting of any faction in the PMF would be considered by Washington as targeting Iran. This is a valid equation, given that Iran was present through the support provided to the crowd in the face of ISIS. Support played a fundamental role in thwarting the American-Arab-Israeli project that terrorist groups were charged with implementing throughout the region.
Also, the region where the attack took place and close to the Syrian border reveals the intentions of the American administration behind him, especially its eagerness to prevent the completion of the line that opposes it and frustrates its projects that extends from Iraq to Syria to Lebanon and from it south to Palestine. The scale of the assault and the direct American recognition of it indicate that the American administration knows that the completion of this line and the size of the force it will create means the failure of its project .
Third
By targeting the crowd, the American administration seeks to include it in the Iraqi political bazaar. And showing it as an obstacle to any better future for Iraqis. It is a strategy adopted by Washington in the face of resistance movements in Lebanon and Palestine. But what the Americans lack in mind, despite achieving some gains in this field, is that the strength of the crowd (as is the rest of the resistance movements in the region) stems from the Iraqi public embrace of it and the belief of every Iraqi that the crowd is essential in defeating terrorism. Consequently, targeting it is targeting the majority of the Iraqis.
If playing is short, as said by the United States. And the recognition of Washington followed an Israeli recognition by the leader of the occupation army, Aviv Kochavi, who said that the occupation army moved and acted on occasions that he found a danger threatening from Iraq, as he put it. It is an Israeli admission for the first time to carry out a strike inside Iraq.
And with the American and Israeli recognition of being involved in targeting the crowd, the issue enters a new stage with the firm belief that the crowd will respond and that strikes will continue, but on both sides this time, and not only by Washington or the Israeli occupation entity. The dominance will naturally be the right holder here, and he is known for the far and near.
