Iran is allegedly leaning towards replacing Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki with Tariq Najm, a Shiite politician and adviser to Maliki, who is thought to be closer to Tehran.

Tariq Najm, the new Iraqi Prime Minister?

Iran is allegedly leaning towards replacing Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki with Tariq Najm, a Shiite politician and adviser to Maliki, who is thought to be closer to Tehran.

According to a source that is close to the matter and asked for anonymity, after the Iranian and Iraqi officials met in Baghdad on Saturday, Iran suggested that Maliki can no longer remain in power and is pushing for Najm to replace him.

An anonymous source that was in the meeting told BasNews that Iran is dissatisfied with Maliki’s failed policies and has chosen to replace him, trusting that Najm can protect Iranian interests in Baghdad.

Najm is known to be anti Kurdistan and a fierce supporter of Shiite interests.

He is close to Maliki and is known as the black box of Maliki’s government.

BAGHDAD / NINA / An Iraqi political source revealed that the U.S. administration would like that Ayad Allawi takes over as prime minister for the next government and put pressure on the political blocs to accept him as an acceptable candidate to the majority of the parties as U.S. administration thinks.

The source told the Iraqi National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "some political blocs submitted, secretly, the names of their candidates for the next government to the heads of the blocs for the purpose of negotiation and accept one of them." pointing out that "the candidates are Adel Abdul-Mahdi, Ahmed Chalabi, of the citizen bloc, Nuri al-Maliki, Faleh al-Fayad and Tariq Najim, from the State of Law coalition."

He explained, "if the political blocs disagreed on renewal mandate to the current prime minister, who is rejected by most of the political blocs, al-Maliki will submit Tariq Najim for the post of prime minister, as the post of prime minister for the biggest bloc in the National Alliance, which is the State of Law Coalition."

He added that "Americans are conducting intensive contacts with the leaders of political blocs and pushing them and with a number of regional countries, except Iran and some of its allies from the Europeans, in attempt to form a partnership government in Iraq, headed by Iyad Allawi, who is accepted by Arab, American and European." / End

There you have it , everyone throwing their choice into the ring. Iraqi Sunnis don't like Allawi, you have to wonder why the US would? Iragi White  is the Sunni political that abandoned Allawis Al-Iraqya because they thought him obstructionist. I don't think Iraqis will embrace him...not for a second.

Yeah everybody's got a horse yet it Jaafari meeting with every diplomat and every sect of the national coalition. Outsiders might just be missing the winds direction.

its a matter of trust ..

    BAGHDAD - ((eighth day))
Denied national coalition led by Iyad Allawi, attending meetings at the capital Ostntpol turkey.

A statement from the coalition today received by the agency ((eighth day)) a copy of "Some websites launched a news story a fabrication to attend some of the leadership of a coalition national meeting in Istanbul, among a number of Iraqi political figures have intentions to form a national salvation government."

The statement stressed that "national coalition has nothing to do these meetings from near or far, or whether you will actually it's just lies."

Some of the media has published a story that "that the national coalition led by Iyad Allawi had met in Istanbul to form a government of national salvation".                                                                                                                                                                                [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
