Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani called on Monday to vote on the general amnesty law for the “oppressed” before other laws.
Al-Mashhadani said in a meeting of the heads of parliamentary blocs, “It is better to vote on the general amnesty law for the oppressed first before other laws.”
Earlier, the House of Representatives failed to resolve the “one-basket session” that included voting on draft laws amending the general amnesty law, the retirement of the Popular Mobilization Forces, returning properties to their owners, and a proposal to amend the Personal Status Law.
