BAGHDAD / NINA / The National Coalition led by Iyad Allawi called on the political blocs to postpone the first session of the House of Representatives scheduled next Tuesday, until agreeing on a national project to achieve the security and unity of Iraq.
The coalition stressed in a statement issued after a meeting to its leadership today the need for a political agreement before the first session of the House of Representatives, commensurate with the opening to the popular movement and the peaceful means of resolving the crisis in order to prevent more serious consequences.
The statement noted that the meeting discussed the initiative by Allawi, in holding a quick meeting for the leaders of political blocs to develop a road map and a clear project lead out of the disaster experienced by the country, and the formation of a government of national unity committed to the road map and put an end to political sectarian and national reconciliation to correct the path of the political process involving all Iraqi people, with the exception of terrorists, murderers and thieves of public money.
They confirmed the seriousness of the regional and international interference in Iraqi affairs, especially the blatant political and public interference to some of the parties in the formation of the next government.
