The central bank branch in Erbil explains the fact that it transferred funds to the region's money

{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Central Bank of Iraq branch in Erbil denied transferring any money to the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government, indicating that this step requires an order from the Federal Ministry of Finance.
And on the news that there were financial sums received in the province’s bank account, the branch manager Kazem Namig Ahmed said in a statement that “since 2017, the regional bank has not become and the Iraqi Central Bank has become the Erbil branch and it is affiliated with the Central Bank of Iraq and not for the Kurdistan Regional Government.”
He explained that "the sums in the branch belong to the Central Bank of Iraq, which is affiliated with the federal government, and has nothing to do with the salaries of the region's employees. The branch also supervises the financing of the Central Bank of Iraq branch in Mosul as well."
He pointed out that "the Federal Ministry of Finance in Baghdad whenever the Central Bank of Iraq has ordered then the branch can deliver the amount to the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government."
It is scheduled to start a new round of negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad this week, with the aim of reaching an agreement and cancel the work of the letter issued by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers on the 16th of last April to stop the payment of salaries of Kurdistan Region employees.
The discussions that took place during the days 29 and 30 of April and the 1 st of May between the delegation of the Kurdistan region, headed by Qubad Talabani and government officials in Baghdad, did not reach the point of settlement and matters remained pending until another round of negotiations was held.
"The meetings took place in light of the complexity of circumstances, but they were generally positive," said Samir Hawrami, spokesman for the head of the delegation, Qubad Talabani, stressing that "the Kurdistan Regional Government renews its commitment to the points contained in the understanding reached on December 1, 2019 between the regional government And the federal government, also committed to the entire paragraphs of the 2019 budget law.
