    Since yesterday, the popular and media circles around the world have been eagerly awaiting an upcoming announcement by US President Donald Trump regarding a "major treatment breakthrough," an announcement that aroused great interest and anticipation.
     
    During the last hours, Trump announced the alleged "therapeutic breakthrough", when he confirmed that the US health authorities had given their approval to use the plasma of people recovering from the Corona virus to treat people with the epidemic, but this method was used in Iraq for months.
     
    The decision of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve giving plasma comes at a time when US President Donald Trump faces tremendous pressure to curb the spread of the epidemic, and it is believed that plasma (blood serum) contains strong antibodies that can help people with Covid-19 in the Fight the virus at a faster rate, and it can also contribute to reducing the dangerous repercussions of the epidemic.
     
    Although plasma is currently used in the treatment of people with Covid-19 in the United States and other countries, controversy still exists among experts about its effectiveness, and some of them have warned of side effects.
     
    Lynn Horowitz, a pulmonary specialist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, says: "The plasma of the recoverers is likely to be beneficial, although this is not proven in clinical trials, but it is not a salvage treatment for patients with severe symptoms."
     
    It is likely that the plasma is more effective in those who have just had contact with people with the virus, that is, at the stage in which the body is trying to eliminate inflammation.
     
    And on Sunday, American media reported that Trump would announce the emergency approval at a press conference, but the White House refused to make a comment about what the president intends to do, and President Kylie McKinani's spokeswoman said Trump would announce a "major treatment breakthrough."
