    {Local: Al Furat News}, on Sunday, the Federal Integrity Commission carried out three seizures at the Northern Central Command of Umm Qasr, Basra International Airport and the National Retirement Authority in the governorate, indicating that the operations resulted in the arrest of three suspects.

    The investigation department of the authority stated, in a statement that Al-Furat News received a copy of, that “the details of those operations indicated that the Basra Investigation Department's team, which moved to the Kamark Umm Qasr al-Shamali center, was able to arrest a police officer for not escorting and delivering ( 30) a container to the Free Zone Directorate to complete the formal transaction procedures for the purpose of smuggling the containers and not paying the fees imposed on them.
    The department explained that "the 30 containers are loaded on trucks that contain spare materials for motorcycles and a hand number belonging to two commercial companies," noting that "the accused did not deliver the containers to the Free Zone Directorate, claiming that the truck drivers escaped with the containers to an unknown destination."
    She added, "The work team, in a second operation, seized collection receipts for one of the contracting companies to rent the external garage to Basra International Airport, for collecting money from cars heading from the city center to the airport, in contravention of the contract concluded with it."
    In a separate operation, the team managed to arrest two defendants in the National Retirement Authority - Basra Branch, in possession of forged documents, indicating that one of the accused had assumed the status of a retired pensioner who had passed away since 2003.
    She added that "fundamental arrest records were organized in the operations that were carried out based on judicial arrest warrants, and they were presented with the accused to the judge of the Court of Integrity Investigation in Basra, who decided to arrest the accused in the first operation, and to issue an arrest and investigation order against another accused in the case."
