Security source: A plan to lift 20 controls from Baghdad

{Umniah: Al Furat News} A security source revealed a plan to lift 20 security controls from the capital, Baghdad.

The source told {Euphrates News} that "the plan will be in partnership with the General Traffic Directorate and municipal departments to develop a strategy to raise or transform 20 checkpoints into a security station."
And he indicated, "Work began last month with the plan," noting that "40 controls have been lifted so far, according to a joint study."
The source pointed out that "the checkpoints are of great importance in deterring terrorism and controlling matters."
The capital, Baghdad, witnessed the presence of many security controls for many years in most of the streets and intersections of the capital for security reasons in the fight against terrorism and crime.
The engineering effort for Baghdad operations has been raised since the beginning of this month, the transfer of about 30 controls to merbats and the lifting of about 50 controls, and it plans to raise 44 other controls during the coming period.
