The Central Bank of Iraq's sales of hard currency rose today, Wednesday, to record more than 200 million dollars.
Today, during its auction for buying and selling US dollars, the Central Bank witnessed an increase in its sales by 30% to reach 208 million, and 818 thousand and 800 dollars were covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar, compared to yesterday, Tuesday, in which sales amounted to 160 million and 734 thousand US dollars.
The purchases amounting to 164 million and 298 thousand and 800 dollars went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, while the remaining amount of 44 million and 520 thousand dollars went in cash.
And that 34 banks fulfilled requests to enhance balances abroad, and 10 banks to meet cash requests, in addition to the participation of 4 exchange companies, and 201 mediation companies.
