The General Company for Ports of Iraq, one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport, recorded the reception of a number of commercial and oil ships that docked at the berths of the two ports of Khor Al-Zubair and Umm Qasr Al-Shamali.
The Director General of Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said that "this increase came in line with the requirements of development and the economy and within the important development processes that the country is witnessing, stressing the need to raise the level of port services in a way that contributes to strengthening the strength of linking Iraq's ports with the ports of the East and West and increasing the quantities of handling in them."
Al-Fartousi explained that "the specialized oil port of Khor Al-Zubair received nine tankers carrying oil derivatives, while the northern Umm Qasr port received five commercial ships, and the operations of unloading, shipping, docking and take-off took place in cooperation and coordination between the two port administrations and maritime operations."
