Today, Tuesday, the representative of the Azm Mishaan al-Jubouri alliance confirmed that the position of President of the Republic will go to Hoshyar Zebari, while the Sadrist movement will nominate the candidate for prime minister.
Al-Jubouri said in a tweet, followed by Earth News, "The first round ended with the victory of Al-Halbousi and his deputies to head the House of Representatives, and in the second, Hoshyar Zebari will be elected as President of the Republic."
He added that "the prime minister, whom the Sadrist movement calls, will gain the confidence of Parliament, as well as the government whose program is agreed upon by the allies," noting that "the figures confirm that there are 200 deputies committed to what their leaders agreed upon."
