Iranian Foreign Minister: Iraq will host a new round of negotiations with Saudi Arabia

Shafaq News/ Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian said on Monday that his country will soon participate in the next round of negotiations with Saudi Arabia, which will be held in Baghdad with the efforts of the Iraqi Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
Today, in a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart, Fouad Hussein, Amir Abdollahian added, "We had detailed talks with the Iraqi Foreign Minister on following up issues related to bilateral relations, saying: We are determined to operate the Shalamcheh-Basra railway as soon as possible. Because this issue contributes to Increasing the movement of citizens of the two countries and the exchange of goods between Iraq and Iran.
The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed, "The cooperation of the joint judicial committee between Iran and Iraq in following up the case of Soleimani's assassination and taking the next steps faster."
He expressed his satisfaction to hear good news from the Iraqi foreign minister confirming the final withdrawal of US forces from Iraq.
Amir Abdollahian said, "Today we also exchanged views on the latest developments in the nuclear negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the 4+1 group in Vienna, the latest developments in Afghanistan, and the latest developments in the fight against terrorism in Iraq and Syria."
Referring to the Iranian-Saudi negotiations and Iraq's constructive role in this regard, he said, "There are a number of positive and negative points in the file of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia."
He added, "Riyadh agreed last week to issue visas to three of our diplomats to work in the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Jeddah." Abdullahian announced, "We will soon participate in the next round of negotiations with Saudi Arabia, which will be held in Baghdad with the efforts of the Iraqi prime minister and its foreign minister."
He said, "We presented a set of practical and constructive proposals to the Saudi side in the last round of negotiations, declaring that the delegations of the two countries will meet in Baghdad soon and work on implementing the next phase of the agreements."
He continued, "We are ready for technical delegations from the two countries to visit the embassies so that relations can return to normal, but we have to wait and see when this will happen."
Regarding the Vienna negotiations, he said, "we were able to reach one document and one agenda in the last round of negotiations."
"The approach of some European countries, including France, was not constructive in the previous negotiations, and we expect the French side to play a constructive role at this stage of the negotiations," he added.
"The three European countries did not present a new initiative in the negotiations," he said, adding: "We were able to obtain oral approval from all parties on the views presented by Iran in the draft that will be discussed next week."
"We expressly declare that we will continue our serious negotiations in Vienna in good faith with the aim of reaching a good agreement," he said, expressing his hope that the other side would enter the negotiations in the same manner.
He stressed "the need to cancel the embargo imposed on Iran to address the concerns of other members of the nuclear agreement regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear activities."
