Outcomes of the Hananah meeting.. Baghdad is on a date with the "My Chest - My Frame" meeting under the auspices of the Barzani Initiative
Shafak News Agency learned that an expanded meeting will be held before the presidential election session, bringing together the Triple Alliance (the Sadrist bloc, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Sovereignty Alliance) on one hand, and the leaders of the coordination framework on the other, in the capital, Baghdad.
An informed political source told Shafak News Agency, "The upcoming meeting will be held within days and will include Al-Sadr, the leaders of the Kurdish and Sunni forces, with the leaders of the coordination framework."
This movement comes as an initiative launched by the Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani, which led to the meeting of the Triple Alliance, in Al-Hanana (Sadr's residence in Najaf), which included Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region (the Democratic Party), and Khamis Al-Khanjar and Muhammad Al-Halbousi from (the Sovereignty), with Al-Sadr.
Shafak News Agency learned that the meeting was an attempt by the partners to resolve the dispute between Sadr and the coordination framework, that is, reunite the (Shiite House), where the mediating partners (Barzani, Al-Halbousi and Al-Khanjar) made a number of proposals to resolve the dispute between the Shiite parties, but the leader of the Sadrist movement remained insistent - Until the time of the meeting - on his demands to exclude the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, and hello to all other Shiite forces.
Only seven days remain until the date of the election of the President of the Republic of Iraq, as the Iraqi parliament is scheduled to hold a session, the second of its legislative life, next Monday, in which the president is chosen.
Most of the odds indicate that Hoshyar Zebari, the candidate of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, will be president of the republic, and that the latter will assign the Sadrist bloc's candidate to form the Iraqi government.
In terms of numbers, the tripartite alliance (Al-Sadr, the Democratic Party and the Sovereignty) constitutes about two-thirds of the parliament’s members, as the Sadrist bloc has 73 seats, the Democratic Party has 31, and the Sovereignty Alliance has 67 seats, bringing a total of 171 seats out of a total of 329 deputies.
