    Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Health announced the opening of the German Safety Hospital, with a capacity of 100 beds, on the Karkh side of Baghdad, while noting that the death rate from Corona in Iraq is 1% of the injuries.
    A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Minister of Health, Hani Musa Al-Aqabi, inaugurated, in the presence of the head of the Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, Muhammad Hashim Al-Ani, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Peter Felten, the Director of the German Development Bank, Anna Bashka, and the Director of the Baghdad Health Department." Al-Karkh, Saad Kamel Al-Lami, and the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Saif Al-Badr, and a number of doctors and health staff, Al-Salama Hospital in Al-Amriya neighborhood of Baghdad, Al-Karkh. 
    The statement added, "The Minister delivered a speech during the opening ceremony in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Director of the Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorism, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Director of the German Development Bank for cooperation in the completion of this hospital for treating patients with the Corona pandemic, which is equipped with the latest medical devices." 
    The minister confirmed, according to the statement, that "all the medical, health and administrative staff of the Ministry of Health have made sacrifices and martyrs since the start of the Corona pandemic in 2020," noting that "the ministry's success in confronting the pandemic by achieving the increase of intensive care beds from 300 beds to 3500 beds and the creation of more than (70)" A laboratory after it was one laboratory for the Corona virus in Baghdad, the provinces and the Kurdistan region.
     He pointed out that "the death rate of corona in Iraq is 1% of infections, which is the lowest level compared to the countries of the world, thanks to the efforts of the staff of the Ministry of Health."
    While the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Saif Al-Badr, explained, “The opening of this hospital came with joint efforts and cooperation between the Ministry of Health, the Iraqi Reconstruction Fund and the Federal Republic of Germany,” stressing that “there are similar hospitals in Baghdad, Rusafa, and three in Basra, Nineveh and Sulaymaniyah that will be opened to treat Corona patients.” .
    The director of the Iraqi Reconstruction Fund pointed out that "the opening of this hospital came in joint cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the friendly Federal Republic of Germany," offering "thanks to the Minister of Health and all the staff of the Ministry of Health."
    For his part, the German Chargé d'Affairs praised "the cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the German Embassy and the efforts of the Minister of Health," noting that "this hospital is an important achievement to provide treatment services to patients."
