    Earth News/ Today, Wednesday, Turkmen deputies announced that they would not attend the presidential election session scheduled for today.
    A statement by the Badr parliamentary bloc, received by Earth News, stated, "The Turkmen deputies announced that they would not attend today's session," noting that "the Turkmen deputies confirmed that the candidate for the presidency will not represent the aspirations of the Turkmen component."
    The statement quoted Parliament Rapporteur Gharib Askar as saying that "the coordinating framework will not attend today's session if understandings and agreements are not reached in the interest of the people."
    Today, Wednesday, the Iraqi Council of Representatives is scheduled to hold its session to choose the President of the Republic, after it failed to hold the session last Saturday due to the lack of a quorum.
