On Thursday, Representative of the State of Law Coalition, Mahmoud al-Salami, considered the tripartite coalition’s threat to form parliamentary committees in the session to choose the president of the republic for the purpose of attracting independent representatives.

Al-Salami said in an interview with the Information Agency, "The Presidency of the House of Representatives and the Triple Alliance will not be able to prevent any deputy under the dome of Parliament from any political bloc from exercising his rights towards the Iraqi people, or isolating him from his right."
He added, "The tripartite alliance tried to threaten the file of forming parliamentary committees and electing their members, and they made it a paragraph in the voting session on the President of the Republic for the purpose of attracting a group of independent representatives to attend the parliament session and vote on their candidate for the presidency."
The representative of the state of law explained that “the committees that were voted on still have room and space to accommodate the other representatives who boycotted the session to choose the president of the republic,” noting that “the representatives have every right to have their name within the work of the parliamentary committees.”
And he added, "The deputies who boycotted the sessions of the House of Representatives to vote on the President of the Republic have the constitutional and legal right to express their views and their rejection of the tripartite alliance project."
Yesterday, Wednesday, a member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Sihoud, considered the procedures of the parliament’s presidency, which are concerned with choosing the heads of parliamentary committees and their members, as contrary to the internal system and the Iraqi constitution, while the presidency of the parliament is trying to take away the rights of the opposition blocs. Done/25 SR
