Shafaq News/ Today, Thursday, Iraq and Iran agreed to establish a joint committee for "cultural exchange" between the two countries, while an Iranian official called for "personal assistance, in writing the narrative of resistance and common sacrifices."
The Iraqi Minister of Culture and Antiquities, Hassan Nazim, met with the head of the Association of Culture and Islamic Relations in Iran, Muhammad Mahdi Imanipour, and discussed with him a number of cultural, tourism, archaeological and artistic issues with the participation of two high cultural delegations from both countries, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.
During the meeting, the Iraqi Minister of Culture said that "there is a historical and civilized relationship between the two countries, in addition to the fact that there are millions of visits to the holy shrines that reveal the reality of the deep interdependence between the two peoples."
Nazim stressed Iraq's readiness to "cooperate in all cultural sectors in a way that contributes to developing cultural relations and achieving mutual benefit in the fields of tourism, antiquities, books, cinema and music."
In turn, Imanipour said, according to the statement, that Iran has the desire to "raise the level of cultural and tourism cooperation, and is also ready to establish a committee for cultural exchange between the two countries."
He added that "Iran's cultural representatives in the cultural attachés seek to raise the level of cooperation at the level of the cultural sectors between all the two countries," expressing at the same time "his great pleasure at the visit of Minister Nazim and the accompanying delegation, saying that it gives hope to raise the level of future cooperation between the two countries." .
Imanipour explained, "Mutual tourism between citizens and religious visits have a role in strengthening the relationship between the Iranian and Iraqi peoples," noting that "the Iraqi people love culture, and despite the difficult circumstances, we witnessed the large attendance at the Baghdad Book Fair, and we are ready to cooperate in this field." .
