More than $230 million total central bank sales from foreign remittances
Shafaq News/ The bank's total sales of foreign remittances amounted to more than $230 million in an auction today, Thursday.
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated, "The Central Bank sold today, during its auction to buy and sell US dollars, 253 million and 237 thousand and 547 US dollars, which were covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar.
Our correspondent added that 91% of these sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, which amounted to 233 million and 787 thousand and 547 dollars, while the rest went in the form of cash sales, which amounted to 19 million and 450 thousand dollars.
Our correspondent indicated that 33 banks have responded to requests to enhance balances abroad, and 9 banks to meet cash requests, in addition to 90 mediation companies.
