The recent measure of the Ministry of Finance sparked widespread discontent and anger at the Iraqi street level, especially with the ministry continuing not to explain the matter to the governorates that did not include the allocations to install and appoint their lecturers.
The coordination of lecturers and administrators, free of charge, in the governorates of Karbala, Wasit, Diwaniyah, Dhi Qar, and Muthanna, announced yesterday the organization of demonstrations and sit-ins in front of the Ministry of Finance, in protest of their lack of funding, as in the rest of the other governorates.
Regarding the above, Al-Hilali explained to Shafaq News Agency, "The House of Representatives voted last June 8 on the Food Security Law, and a trillion dinars were allocated to lecturers and administrators in the Ministry of Education, in addition to other segments."
And she added, "The Ministry of Finance has marginalized and written off governorates from others from the Food Security Law and has not provided a financial allocation for those governorates, including Karbala."
Al-Hilali continued: "Today, we, accompanied by a number of parliament members in the Ministry of Finance building, tried to meet with the Director of the Budget Department (Sami Taif), but she refused to do so and prevented entry to it."
And demanded the representative of Karbala province, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance to "intervene to launch the financial allocations allocated to Karbala, like other provinces."
