The United Nations describes the political crisis in Iraq as a "protracted challenge" and considers

The United Nations describes the political crisis in Iraq as a "protracted challenge" and considers its solution "not intractable"

Shafaq News/ On Friday, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) described the current political crisis in the country as "the last protracted challenge", but considered the solution to this crisis not difficult.
This came in a statement issued by the mission on the occasion of the anniversary of the bombing of its Baghdad headquarters in 2003, which killed 22 UNAMI personnel, including Special Representative Sergio Vieira de Mello, and injured about 150 others.
The victims were United Nations staff working to support the country's post-conflict recovery and the overthrow of Saddam Hussein's regime at the hands of US forces and their allies.
Since 2009, the day has been designated as World Humanitarian Day, to be observed annually in recognition of the essential work of humanitarian workers around the world.
The mission said in the statement today, "We at the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), as we remember the lives lost, the injured and the families who still bear the scars of that tragedy, we also remember the ultimate goal of their sacrifice, which is the same goal that we reiterate today: support for the people of Iraq. ".
The statement added, "Iraq has faced countless difficulties in recent years, and the current political crisis is only the latest protracted challenge. However, none of the current disputes is intractable, and it cannot be considered more important than the national interest."
And the mission continued in its statement by saying, "The many sacrifices that were made to restore Iraq's standing must not be in vain: all efforts must be mobilized for dialogue and solutions in the public interest of the people."
