In an alert published on the thirteenth of November, the Crisis Center announced that the Kurdistan region of Iraq is a “dangerous area,” referring to the events currently taking place in the city of Sulaymaniyah.
Al-Marsad, through its warning, which was translated by (Baghdad Today), advised foreigners to leave the city or move away from the areas witnessing demonstrations, stressing the need for foreigners to avoid traveling now to the region in general, and the city of Sulaymaniyah in particular.
The Observatory’s warning also confirmed the occurrence of “clashes” between the demonstrators in the city and the security forces of the regional government, indicating the use of “tear gas and sticks” in an attempt to disperse the demonstrators.
It is noteworthy that the city of Sulaymaniyah witnessed student demonstrations as a result of the reduction in wages and the continued economic deterioration in the region under the administration of the current authority.
