Baghdad and Beirut are discussing to revive more than 20 agreements and memorandums of understanding
Shafaq News/ First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, and the Lebanese Ambassador to Baghdad, Ali Adeeb Al-Habahab, discussed the revival of more than twenty agreements and memorandums of understanding that Iraq had signed with the Lebanese state.
Al-Mandalawi called, during his meeting with Habhab in his office, according to a statement from his office received by Shafaq News agency, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs to "work with its Lebanese counterpart and other concerned parties to put these agreements and understandings into effect, and to be keen to advance economic, cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries."
He continued, "The recent amendment to the investment law is capable of increasing the openness of Lebanese companies to investment opportunities in several fields, and proceeding with the project of establishing a joint free trade zone and expanding the volume of trade exchange," calling on Beirut to "facilitate the procedures of students studying in Lebanese universities, as well as the Iraqi community."
