Shafaq News/ The Federal Integrity Commission announced, on Wednesday, that a decision to imprison the former Minister of Industry and Minerals, Saleh Al-Jubouri, had been issued in presence. For deliberately committing a violation of his job duties with the intention of benefiting a person at the expense of the state.
In its discussion of the decision, the Commission’s Investigation Department confirmed that the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued a judgment of imprisonment in presence against the former Minister of Industry and Minerals, in the case of media circulation of recordings that include his taking an oath in the event that he assumed the position of Minister of Industry and Minerals in accordance with the Ministry’s work and affairs according to the recommendations. And the directives of a member of the current House of Representatives who heads a well-known political party.

The department added that the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued the decision; Based on the provisions of Article (331) of the amended Iraqi Penal Code No. (111 of 1969).
It is noteworthy that Article (331) stipulates that “any public official or agent assigned to a public service who willfully commits a violation of his job duties or refrains from performing one of his duties with the intention of harming the interest of an individual or with the intention of benefiting a person at the expense of another or state account.
And the Supreme Judicial Council, in a brief statement, had announced in August of the year 2022, that the Second Karkh Investigation Court had taken legal measures against the former Minister of Industry, Saleh Abdullah al-Jubouri, to investigate what was stated in the recording in which he appears taking the oath to work for the interest of a political party.
At the time, the Iraqi blogger, Ali Fadel, published a video clip of the former Minister of Industry, Saleh al-Jubouri, as he took the oath of oath to pledge the ministry under the command of the head of his parliamentary bloc, Representative Ahmed al-Jubouri.
The leaked video showed Minister Saleh Al-Jubouri, who took his position in the government of former Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, placing his hand on the Holy Qur’an, and swearing that all his decisions and orders would be according to what Representative Ahmed Al-Jubouri sees.
Abdul-Mahdi's government was formed in 2018, following the parliamentary elections that Iraq held at the time, and it was a consensual government between the parliamentary blocs.
