The Ministry of Planning stated that it will be responsible for managing and supervising the projects of the Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Fund in the country in cooperation with the World Bank. The Director of the Department of Human Development at the Ministry, Dr. Maha Abdel-Karim Al-Rawi, said in a statement to "Al-Sabah": The fund focuses on projects aimed at supporting the higher education sector in centers of excellence in universities, as well as the education sector for the governorates that are lagging behind in catching up with development within the human capital component.
She added that the fund, which is managed in cooperation with the World Bank, encourages the private sector as a strong partner in the development effort in order to improve investments in the field of economic, social and human recovery, stressing that it will in turn be reflected in human building, youth development and meeting the needs of the labor market.
Al-Rawi stressed that the greatest responsibility rests with the Ministry of Planning, in order to support the vital and important education sector, through what is imposed by the current tasks and future directions, in addition to intensifying efforts and working on the principle of partnership and integration to achieve what the country aspires to, in addition to upgrading the two sectors with all their elements represented by the teacher. The teacher, the student, the environment, the educational process, curricula, activities, teaching methods and education resources, which qualifies them to walk in the ranks of countries that have made significant strides in this field.And she noted that when talking about human well-being and building human capital in Iraq, reference must be made to Iraq's future vision (2020-2030) in the Sustainable Development Goals, which stressed building the human being, which is the first of the five priorities it adopted, so the ministry seeks through innovation in policies. Plans, support for programs and projects, and the implementation of reform measures aim to enhance human capital armed with appropriate knowledge and skills to ensure the stability and prosperity of society in a world that is changing at an unprecedented pace and a digital economy.
