the National Advisor for the General Population Census, Dr. Mahdi Al-Alaq, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: The paper form used in the past will be canceled in the census that will be conducted next November, noting that it has been replaced by the electronic system via an installed tablet. It contains all the demographic, economic, health, educational and social characteristics of all members of society and according to the age group that represents these characteristics.
Al-Alaq added that the question about nationalism that was present in the census paper was completely cancelled, pointing out that all the measures that were achieved in 2010 were completely stopped after the insistence on raising issues related to nationalism and disputed areas.
He pointed out that the decision of the Federal Court settled this controversy and separated the issue of the census from the population census referred to in Article 140 of the Constitution, explaining that it removed all possibilities of the possibility of sensitivity and problems occurring by canceling the nationality question, as the census is not limited to one nationality or another.
