The State of Law coalition bloc in the Baghdad Provincial Council stressed, today, Wednesday, the necessity of legislating the capital law to remove the overlap of powers between the council and the Baghdad Municipality and the Municipalities Department.
The head of the bloc, Ali Al-Azergawi, told Al-Maalouma, “The Provincial Council suffers from a lack of clarity of its powers and the powers of other relevant parties, which has created a state of instability in the provision of services within the capital.”
He added, "The governorate held a meeting with the Prime Minister to speed up the legislation of the capital law to remove the overlap of powers and determine the work of the authorities."
He explained that "a large part of the authority of the provincial councils and the Baghdad Governorate was withdrawn and granted to other ministries, which caused a significant overlap in these powers." Ended / 25h
