The Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, affirmed Iraq's openness to fruitful partnerships with French companies, especially in the field of contributing to the reconstruction of infrastructure and enhancing the defense capabilities of our armed forces.
This came during his meeting, Tuesday morning, with the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, according to a statement provided by his media office.
During the meeting, they discussed the overall bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them and expand cooperation in various economic and development fields, as the statement indicated.
The statement quoted Al-Sudani as emphasizing “Iraq’s openness to fruitful partnerships with French companies, especially in the field of contributing to the reconstruction of infrastructure and enhancing the defense capabilities of our armed forces, and cooperation in the field of military technological modernization through the contracts concluded, the most important of which is the contract with the French company Thales.”
Al-Sudani touched on "developments in the situation in the region, the continuation of the aggression against Gaza, and the importance of activating the roles of the international organization and the international community to prevent the genocide taking place against our Palestinian people."
He stressed that this was to "deter the aggression from committing more massacres against civilians, which threatens the spread of conflict and more unrest throughout the Middle East."
